EAGLE-EYED Xbox gamers have discovered a new document that hints at a free upgrade coming soon.
One of the most popular games of all time could be getting a big upgrade on Xbox.
While it might feel like Minecraft is already available on almost every platform imaginable, it is not always native to each console.
There is no current version for the Xbox Series X|S though the game is playable on these consoles via backwards compatibility.
However, it seems that a native current-gen version will soon be available for users on modern consoles.
A version of Minecraft for Xbox Series X|S has been rated in Germany, leading people to believe it will come natively to Microsoft’s latest consoles.
This native version of Minecraft could come with a number of new features for Xbox users.
We would expect the version for the Xbox Series X to have a 4K mode with higher resolution.
It might also be able to run at 120fps on Xbox Series X, giving people more ways to play.
A ray-tracing mode might also be possible as there is already official ray-tracing support for PC.
While it is possible for the Xbox Series S to run games to this level, there will certainly be a significant upgrade on the console.
It’s unclear which version of Minecraft is currently available on the Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility.
If the Xbox Series X is running the Xbox One X version of Minecraft, then it would already have the higher resolution.
However, it’s likely that the Xbox Series S is running the Xbox One version and will see significant improvements.
