Tanmiah Food Company, a prominent supplier of fresh poultry, processed proteins, and animal feed, has entered into a partnership with Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and the EDF Group, to develop a 3 megawatt-peak solar power plant at Tanmiah’s agricultural processing facility in Haradh, Saudi Arabia. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s clean energy objectives and underscores Tanmiah’s commitment to sustainability.
Under the terms of the agreement, Emerge will provide a comprehensive turnkey solution encompassing finance, design, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance of the solar installation for a period of 25 years. The solar plant is projected to supply approximately 35% of the electricity required for the Haradh facility’s operations, thereby significantly reducing carbon emissions by over 3,850 tonnes annually. This reduction is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of more than 800 households.
The agreement was formalized at the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, with Zulfiqar Hamadani, Tanmiah’s Group CEO, and Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge, signing the documents. Hamadani emphasized that this collaboration reflects Tanmiah’s dedication to integrating sustainable practices within its operations and contributing to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals. Abi Saab highlighted that the project exemplifies Emerge’s mission to support commercial and industrial partners in achieving their sustainability targets through tailored renewable energy solutions.
Emerge, established in 2021, operates in Saudi Arabia as Al-Shorouk Sustainable Energy Company. The joint venture focuses on developing solar generation, energy storage, and hybrid solutions in the Middle East, offering clients full turnkey solutions through solar power agreements without requiring upfront investment. This model enables businesses to adopt renewable energy seamlessly, aligning with broader environmental objectives.
